Tegrel's ability to provide effective design & engineering solutions has enabled their entrance to new and previously untried areas such as the Marine sector.

Products currently being supplied to this sector include a large aluminium modular bouy for Trinity House.

Trinity House have been responsible for the "safety of shipping, and the well being of seafarers" since 1514, and are the General Lighthouse Authority for England, Wales, the Channel Isles and Gibralter providing aids to navigation such as Light houses, radar beacons and bouys.

The complex structure is manufactured from heavy guage marine grade aluminium and is completely machined, folded and welded in-house. Comprising of four separate modules to a "set", dimensional accuracy is of the utmost importance, as should the need arise, maintenance vessels swap out individual modules at sea. Trinity House therefore need absolute certainty that units made at different times will fit together with existing components 100% of the time.

Other Marine products include Thruster Housings for luxury seagoing vessels for a company called Ocean Yacht Systems (OYS). Ocean Yacht Systems is World leaders in the design & manufacture of rigging, hydraulics and thruster systems for the "Superyacht high performance yachting" market.

Supply to OYS began in 2010, after satisfying their requirements for a "one-stop-shop" supplier of high value, high tolerance components. The thruster housings themselves are again manufactured from heavy guage marine grade aluminium, fabricated and then machined to very tight tolerances to ensure the long term intergrity & performance operating in an extremely harsh working environment.
